<p> </p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri; font-size: medium;">Will of Alice Halford</span></p> <p> </p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri; font-size: medium;">This is the last will and testament of me Alice Halford of Newbold Mill in the parish of Tredington in the county of Worcester widow. I give devise and bequeath unto my son Charles Halford all my messuages lands tenements and hereditaments whether freehold lifehold leasehold or otherwise howsoever situate and being at Newbold in the parish of Tredington aforesaid or elsewhere to hold the same unto my said son Charles Halford his heirs executors administrators and assigns according to the nature tenure and duration of the same properties respectively I give and bequeath unto my executors hereinafter names the sum of eight hundred pounds upon trust that they do and shall put and place out the same upon Government or ...hold security in their own names and that they do and shall pay the dividends or interest thereof unto my daughter Charlotte the wife of Richard Grimes or her assigns for and during the term of her natural life to and for her own sole and separate use and ...independent of her present or any future husband and where with he shall not intermeddle nor shall the same or any part thereof be subject or liable to his debt<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>control management or engagement and her receipt afore notwithstanding ...being a married woman shall at all times be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>for the same ..d from and after her decease upon further trust that my said executors do and shall pay the dividend a... interest of the said sum of eight hundred pounds unto the said Richard Grimes for and during the term of his natural life and from and after the decease of the survivor of them the said Richard Grimes and Charlotte his wife. I give and bequeath the sum of six hundred pounds unto my said son Charles Halford and the remaining sum of two hundred pounds unto my grandson Thomas Halford (the son of my late son John Halford deceased) to and for their own respective use and benefit. I give and bequeath unto my said executors the sum of six hundred pounds upon trust to place the same but at interest in manner hereinbefore mentioned and to divide and pay the same unto and equally between the said Thomas Halford and his sisters Elizabeth Halford and Esther Halford the three children of my said late son John Halford upon the youngest of my said three grandchildren for the time being attaining the age of twenty and one years or unto and between such of them as may be living when the youngest of them for the time being shall attain that age and the intermediate interest thereof to be paid to such of them as may be of age and to be paid or applied by and at the discretion of my executors for the benefit of such of them as may be under age in equal share and proportions. And as the residue of my personal estate and effects I give and bequeath the same unto my said son Charles Halford absolutely to and for his own use and benefit. I do hereby nominate and appoint my said son Charles Halford and my grandson the said Thomas Halford executors hereof> I desire all estates and hereditaments vested in me as mortgagee unto the said Charles Halford and Thomas Halford & their heirs to enable them to carry this my will into execution. And I exempt every trustee and executor of this my will from liability for losses occurring without his own wilful default and authorize him to retain to and allow to his Cotrustee and executor all expenses incidental to the trusteeship and executorship hereof. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty nine. The mark of Alice Halford.
