One of the most important weddings of the season took place Sunday morning at 10:20 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans von Hagen, on Spring Creek mesa, when their second daughter, Miss Hilda, became the bride of Mr. George M. Havice, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Havice. the impressive, sacred ceremony was performed by the Rev. R.R. Shoemaker, who used the ring service, and the lovely bride was given into the keeping of Mr. Havice by her father. * the quiet, tho very beautiful, wedding, was attended by only the immediate relatives of the happy couple, and after the shower of good wishes to them, the bride's mother, aided by the Misses Alma, Dora and Elizabeth von Hagen, served an elegant breakfast. A profusion of flowers graced the parlor and diningroom. * Mr. and Mrs. Havice left in their car for some western point, where they boarded the train for Salt Lake City to spend their honeymoon. On their return they will go to housekeeping in a beautiful home on Spring Creek mesa, where Mr. Havice will farm this year and where he has fitted up a splendid home for his bride. * No more charming maiden resides in the valley, than is this winsome and very attractive bride. Of exceptionally sweet manner, retiring, tho very friendly toward everyone, she has legions of friends. She is talented, too, and a graduate of the Montrose county high school. Her family is one of prominence and influence in the valley, having resided in this section for a number of years. * Mr. Havice, too, is highly connected here, and tho he and his family have resided at Montrose only a comparatively short time, all are well and prominently known. He came here about two years ago from California, and has also spent considerable time in the Philippines and in China, his father holding a high position in educational lines. Mr. Havice is a young man of splendid character, and has won a very wide circle of Montrose friends, who rejoice with him in his great happiness and wish for him and Mrs. Havice the brightest of futures, crowned with success.
