ANNA MARGARET KNEEDY 82, OF KINGSTON , DIED THURSDAY AT ST FRANCIS HOSPITAL AFTER A LENGTHY ILLNESS.</p><p>SHE WAS BORN IN BENTON TOWNSHIP ON SEPT 15, 1878, THE DAUGHTER OF HENRY AND MARGARET DRAVIS AND WAS MARRIED TO ANDREW C. KNEEDY ON FEB 2, 1900 IN DES MOINES COUNTY. SHE WAS OF THE METHODIST FAITH. </p><p>SURVIVING ARE A SON, ERNEST OF BURLINGTON, THREE DAUGHTERS, MRS. ELLA MILLER AND MRS. JESSIE WIRT, BOTH OF KINGSTON AND MRS. DOROTHY BROCKWAY OF MEDIAPOLIS.&nbsp; 20 GRANDCHILDREN AND 25 GREAT GRANCHILDREN AND TWO SISTERS&nbsp; MRS JAMES HINSON OF KINGSTON AND MRS LENA DREBENSTEDT OF PHILADELPHIA , MO. </p><p>HER HUSBAND, THREE BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS ARE DEAD.</p><p>SERVICES WILL BE IN PRAGH&#39;S CHAPEL SATURDAY AT 3 P.M. DR GEORGE C.HUNT OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY </p>

    <p>Anna's parents, the Dravises, often visited them in Kingston. Mr. and Mrs. Dravis spoke German, and grandaughter Elmira (Ella) remembers the family sessoins where their speech would "sound like a bunch of geese."</p>

    <p>Andrew was originally a Pennsylvania Dutch native. He was a farmer near Huron, in the bottom land area, and in the Kingston area.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>1880 census - only Florence and Andrew were listed as members of the household. Living in Benton, Des Moines, Iowa. Florence was 20 and Andrew was 16. Occupation for Florence was servant, and Andrew was a farmer.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Anna Dravis, his future wife, was 7 years old in 1880, living in Flint River Township with her parents Henry and Mary age 44 and 34, and siblings Tilla, Caroline, Lewis, and Margaret.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>1900 census - Andy Kneedy lived in Huron, Des Moines, Iowa with Hernan S Blake and Jessee A Blake, both born in 1856. Their daughter Mable A Blake, born in 1883, also lived in the ousehold with Andy Kneedy, servant, born 1866. He had been employed for 3 months as a farm laborer.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>1910 census - Andy and Anna Kneedy had their own household in Jackson, Des Moines, Iowa with children Ella 7, Jessie 5, Dorothy 3, and Ernest. Andy was listed as a general laborer.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>1920 census - Andrew Kneedy 55 and Anna Kneedy 41, lived in Benton, Des Moines, Iowa with children Ella 17, Jessie 15, Dorothy 13, and Earnest 11. Andrew is listed as being a laborer - Section RR. Andrew's parents were born in Maryland and Anna's parents were born in Germany.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>1930 census - Andrew 64 and Anna 50 lived in Benton, Des Moines, Iowa with children Earnest 22, Margaret M 19 (daughter-in-law), Mary 7-1/2 (granddaughter) and Leona M Wirt 6 (granddaughter). Andrew is listed as a laborer - Odd Jobs.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Kneedy family moved to Kingston in 1918 with their four children - Elmira Pearl, Jessie Marie, Dorothy Caroline, and Earnest Andrew. Andrew was employed by the M, B and S Railroad as a laborer after moving to Kingston. The railroad ran from Muscatine to Burlington. He was also employed by Fred Greiner as a farm hand.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Timeline - 1870 resides in Benton, Des Moines, Iowa. 1880 still resides there. 1900 resides in Huron, Des Moines, Iowa. 1910 resides in Jackson, Des Moines, Iowa. 1920 baack to Benton, Des Moines, Iowa. 1930 still in Benton township.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>From Oct. 16, 1947 Mediapolis New Era newspaper: Funeral services were held at Kingston Methodist Church 2:30 Sunday afternoon for Andrew Kneedy, 83, who died at his home in Kingston last Thursday afternoon Oct. 9. He had spent most of his life in the Kingston community. He was born may 19, 1864 and was married to Anna Dravis on Feb. 12, 1902. She survives, as do 4 children: Mrs. Everett Brockway, Mrs. Frank Wirt and Mrs. Walter Miller, Mediapolis RR, and Ernest Kneedy, Burlington. It is reported he was a laborer for the MB&amp;S Railroad, and that he and his wife Anna moved to Kingston in 1918</p>
