[transcribed from handwritten notes by Mary Cleota Brasel Clark, wife of Donald Wayne Clark]

This was told to us by Katherine Taney who was a cousin of Don's father [James Clark]. She lived in Greensburg, Indiana. That is where Don's grandfather's family grew up. They had a truck garden at the edge of town which was part of their income.

John Clark and Anna Harmer Clark both came from Turnbridge Wells, England. They had a total of eleven children. Two were born in England, and nine in America.

1. Charles - born in England.

2. Jacob -

3. George - America - married twice and had two sons.

4. Thomas - lived in South Dakota

5. Jane Adams - Iowa

6. Fanny Langston - 2 sons, 1 daughter

7. Ann Smullen

8. Elizabeth Taney - 1 son, 3 daughters. Katherine who lived in Greensburg told us this.

9. Rosetta Gobel - no children

10. Mahalia Marshall - iowa

11. David - 4 children - James, Pearl, Earnest and David Jr.

John and Anna Clark had a five acre farm at the edge of Greensburg [Indiana] and sold vegetables. Jane Adams' husband [ ____ Adams] worked for a farmer named Foley. Mr. Foley sent Mr. Adams to Iowa so Mrs. Adams (Jane) went too. Later Mahalia and also David went to Iowa. She said David, Don's grandfather, had $5 when he left Greensburg.

David married Minnie Wulf and they had three sons and one daughter: James, Earnest, David Jr. and Pearl. David did very good after coming to Iowa as he gave each of his children a farm.
