Wife of George W. Brown.
From the Booklet Zessin 9:
Adelina Zessin was born in Germany, probably near Stolp, on December 10, 1866. She migrated with her parents to the United States at the age of four and lived on the homestead in Madison County, Nebraska. She went to a German School in her early years near Meadow Grove, Nebraska. As her brothers and sisters, she was a member of the German Lutheran Church.
On February 1, 1890, Adelina was married to George W. Brown of Iowa, at the home of her parents. Her older brother, Ferdinand, served as best man. They made their home near Madison, Nebraska, and their life work was farming.
Adelina was a faithful, loving wife and mother. Her family and home were first in her life. She was most thoughtful of others. Her large family and home took most of her time. It is remembered that at the end of the day, she would organize the next day's work saying "If the Lord is willing."
In 1908 her son, Miles, at the age of four, was stricken with polio. As there was no confirmed method of treatment, Adelina used hot baths, oil massage and exercise. Miles was left crippled in his left leg.
After a short illness, Adelina died February 5, 1910, and seven days later, her young son, Andrew, died. This was a sad time for the family. The father, George Brown, kept the children together until they were old enough to be in their own homes.
Adelina is buried near her parents in Crown Hill Cemetery, at Madison.
Daughter, Clara Anderson.

Family links:
Parents:
 Ferdinand Zessin (1824 - 1903)
 Henrietta Mame Henrich Zessin (1827 - 1916)

Children:
 Clarence Albert Brown (1891 - 1948)*

*Calculated relationship

Burial:
Crown Hill Cemetery
Madison
Madison County
Nebraska, USA

Edit Virtual Cemetery info [?]

Created by: William Peel
Record added: Aug 01, 2010
Find A Grave Memorial# 55742792
