Maisie was a guest and performer at the Royal Shakespeare Ball, Pageant and Dinner on 30 July 1920. She was 24 years old and we still have the beatiful programme printed on many fan-shaped pages, bound together to make a fan. The Ball was in honor of the visit to Brisbane of the Prince of Wales, who would have been Prince Edward, the eldest son of King George V. Prince Edward briefly became King Edward VIII in 1936 but abdicated in favour of his brother Prince Albert, who reigned as King George VI until 1952. The menu for the supper is printed on the programme:

Roast Turkey and Ham, Galantine of Turkey, Prawns in Aspic, Roast Chicken and Ham, Galantine of Chicken, Chicken in Aspic, Mayonnaise of Chicken, French Salads and Mayonnaise, Bread Rolls

Assorted Fancy Cakes and Pastry, Macaroons, Shortbread Medallions, Buttercream Sandwich

Charlotte Russe, Parisian Trifle, Macedoine of Fruit and Jelly, Grand Meringues, Bombes Venetienne, Fruit Salad and Cream

Cheese Straws, Devilled Almonds, Choice Sweets, Almonds and Raisins, Aerated Waters

Tea, Coffee, Claret Cup, Hock Cup

Beef Tea was served after supper!

The Caterers were Finney, Isles & Co.
