Willabell Schultz- 10/3/2004

I am 76 years old and not too good at this, but can tell you that I have nailed down my ancestors way back. Robert Grierson, the factor/trader of Hillabees, came from Larbreck, Scotland, Dalgoner, Dumfriesshire. As did his brothers, Thomas and James Grierson. I've heard of a brother, William, but know nothing of him, and do not know if he was their brother. The brothers had a father, Thomas Grierson of Larbreck, and he died in 1774 in Scotland. Thomas, his son, a Revolutionary Patriot, died in Ga, shot and killed by a Loyalist Militiaman. James, also in Augusta, was shot and killed by a Georgia Revolutionary Patriot. James left two children, James and Thomas, who went to Scotland. Three other children: Katherine, George, and David, died young. Thomas left a son, John, in the Eufaula area in Ga. Don't know what happened to him. The Grierson boys had a sister, Anne Hopkins, who came to the colonies also, and left her money to the children of James the Loyalist. She had no children.

Taken from the work of Bill Boatmun (www.chiefmcintosh.com)
