T. </span><span><span>Clowry</span></span></span><span><span>.</span><span> Proceeds of the day amounted to</span><span> &pound;65. The fete was officially open</span><span> ed by Mr. G. F. R. Nicklin,</span><span> M.L.A., who was accompanied by</span><span> Mrs. Nicklin. Mr. Nicklin spoke</span><span> of the valuable work done by the</span><span> Red Cross, and urged the public</span><span> lo assist in anv possible way. Vis</span><span> itors from Red Cross Headquart</span><span> ers in Brisbane included Miss</span><span> Scrieven (representative of</span><span> branches). Mrs. Turbayne (Red</span><span> Cross) and the Red Cross driver,</span><span> Miss Murray. The visitors were</span><span> entertained at luncheon by Mr.</span><span> and Mrs. </span><span><span>Clowry</span></span></span><span><span>. The results of</span><span> raffles drawn during the after</span><span> noon were: Iced cake (ingredi</span><span> ents donated by Mrs. H. Guthrie; duck dinner</span><span> (donated by Mrs. E. Alcorn), Mr.</span><span> E. Boon. A stall was also con</span><span> ducted on the grounds by mem</span><span> bers of the Junior Red Cross,</span><span> under the leadership of Mrs.</span><span> Paterson, in aid of their funds.</span><span> This realised &pound;8.
