MAURICE NAPTHALI was one of the early pioneers of the Snowy River Country. A native of Sydney, born in 1838, as a young lad he accompanied his sister, Mrs. Glanville, to Manaro, where her husband settled on land near the Snowy River. He was known as "Morry Glanville," and made a name for himself as one of the boldest and most skilful riders on Manaro, and no one had a better knowledge of the district. In later years he married and settled at Snowy Plain. He left a widow and family. He died in June, 1913.
