Sweeting.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Thursday Evening, 08 Aug 1918, p. 1:</strong></p><p style="text-align: center">CORPORAL SWEETING WOUNDED</p><p>Corporal Leon D. Sweeting, Company C, 127th Infantry, was wounded July 4 by a piece of flying shrapnel, while fighting on the west front, according to a message received Wednesday from the War Department by his mother, Mrs. Bessie Sweeting, of Waldo. His right heel and the calf of his left leg were injured and he was taken to a hospital where he is now convalescing. He is the first Company C man to be reported injured.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Friday, 11 June 1920, p. 9:</strong> </p><p style="text-align: center">WALDO </p><p>Leon Sweeting received his commission as second lieutenant of Co. C. the past week, and left for Camp Douglas Monday for a few days' training.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Wednesday, 12 Jan 1927, p. 17:</strong></p><p>Leon Sweeting returned to his duties at Dodgeville after spending the last two weeks in the city at the home of his mother Mrs. W.H. Sweeting. Mr. Sweeting is employed by the Standard Oil Co.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Wednesday, 27 Jul 1927, p 13:</strong></p><p style="text-align: center">WALDO</p><p>L.D. Sweeting and Miss A.
