Her mother died in the flu epidemic of 1917 and she was raised by her father and stepmother, Ida Lindenmeyer.<p> </p>She married Dallas Taylor who preceded her in death. Mrs. Taylor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.<p> </p>She held a bachelor's degree from Pestalozzi Froebel Teachers College in Chicago and had been a post-graduate student at the University of Washington. She was an elementary school teacher and retired from the Central Kitsap School District as an elementary school librarian.<p> </p>Mrs. Taylor was active in the American Association of University Women for 50 years. She supported education by co-founding the AAUW Minerva Scholarship Fund and donating a large tract of land for a school site in Washington state.<p> </p>In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Taylor, and three siblings, John, Fred and Esther. Surviving are two children, Kathy Casey and Larry Taylor; four grandchildren, Allan Martin, Toby Taylor and Wayne and Dean Chai; and three great-grandchildren, Waynetta and Katie Chai and Brian Martin.<p> </p>There will be no services locally. Her ashes will be buried in Rock Island, Ill., with her husband. She asked that memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.</td></tr></tbody></span>
