    <strong><span style="font-size: 15pt; color: #003d58; line-height: 92%; font-family: arial">Eleanor L. Hildebrand, 101</span></strong><em><span style="font-size: 7pt; color: #990000; font-family: arial">March 4, 2008 </span></em><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Eleanor L. Hildebrand, a retired city schoolteacher and volunteer, died of old age Wednesday at a private assisted-living facility in <span style="color: #003d58">Ellicott City</span>. She had celebrated her 101st birthday last month. </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Eleanor Leimbach was born in Baltimore and raised near Bank Street and Broadway. She was a 1925 graduate of Eastern High School and graduated two years later from what is now <span style="color: #003d58">Towson University</span>. She took additional graduate courses at McCoy College, Johns Hopkins&#39; old evening school. </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Mrs. Hildebrand, a third-grade teacher, taught for 30 years at several city public schools before retiring in 1961 from Glenmount Elementary in Hamilton. </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Mrs. Hildebrand, who had lived in Hamilton for 50 years, at volunteered for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. She had also been a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church on Harford Road, where she had been a longtime Sunday school superintendent. </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">An accomplished needleworker and reader, Mrs. Hildebrand lived for a decade at Charlestown retirement community before moving several years ago to the assisted-living facility. </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Mrs. Hildebrand attributed her longevity to &quot;living the straight life. She never smoked but did enjoy an occasional drink,&quot; said her daughter, Elizabeth H. Balthis of Ellicott City. &quot;Plus she had good genes.&quot; </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Her husband of 42 years, Henry K. Hildebrand, who had been chief statistician for the Maryland <span style="color: #003d58">Port</span><span style="color: #003d58"> Authority</span>, died in 1972. </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Services will be held at noon today at the Evans Funeral Home, 8800 Harford Road. </span><span style="font-size: 8pt; color: #333333; font-family: arial">Also surviving are two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. </span><em><span style="font-size: 8pt; font-family: arial">[Frederick N.
