<p> Frederick George Pickburn was a dentist who had a practice at Stanley Street South Brisbane. His father Henry George also practised there at some time. </p><p>He was awarded the Royal Humane Society of Australia Award for saving the lives of three nurses including his sister. The launch they were on was called the 'La Sonnette' which was run down by ss 'Emerald'.</p><p>He was vice president of the Qld Cyclists Union, Vice President of The Royal Life Saving Society, Vice Commodore of Queensland Flying Squadron. All recorded in the Courier Mail upon his death.</p><p>I have a report that he sang the 'Miners Dream' at a concert to the survivors of the wreck 'Mayhill" in Geralton WA .</p>
