Mrs. Kathryn Wallis Thursday August 9, 1900 at 9pm. Mother of eight children, four of whom are living, and who were near when death claimed her. Mrs. J. W. Mathews, Miss Bay, Willie and Sadie Wallis. She joined the Methodist Church at the age of 12, and at 16 she became a Sunday school teacher, and remained one until her death. She was a very active memeber of the Methodist chruch here and none of its members will ever be missed more than she. She was also a prominent member of the Fortnightly club and the Order of Eastern Star. All that can be sid eulogistic of Mrs. Wallis will be only truth, for she was the embodiment of neighborly kindness, Christian worth, gracous and womanly always, sympathetic, and woman devoted to her husband, and her children and her home. When the information was given to the public, it came not as a surprise, for the end had looked so near for days, that it was hourly expected. The hear of the community beats in Sympathy with the sorrowing family that mourns the untimely departure of one dearly loved; who leaves a void none can fill.

Besides the family here at Pullman, WA she leaves two brothers, Andrew and James Remfrey and one sister, Mrs. J.B. Wallis, all of whom are in Wisconsin.
