    Birth:&nbsp;Sep. 2, 1862<br>Etne<br>Hordaland County, NorwayDeath:&nbsp;Feb. 1, 1930<br>Des Moines<br>Polk County<br>Iowa, USA<br>Dora was the daughter of Tjerand Jonsson Chelsvig and Kathrine Nilsdatter Hatleveik. She was born in Norway and came with her family to America when she was two years old.<br>Her family settled on a farm in Scott Township, Hamilton County, Iowa.<br><br><br>The Roland Record, Feb. 6, 1930 <br><br>Mrs. Dora Henderson <br><br>Mrs. Dora Henderson (nee Chelsvig) was born in Etne parish, Norway, September 2, 1862, and died in Des Moines February 1, 1930, being 67 years, 5 months and one day old at the time of her death. <br><br>She came to this country in 1864 and lived in this vicinity until 1913, when she moved to Des Moines. Seven years later she moved to Austin, Minn. Last spring she was taken ill and then came here to stay with her daughter, Mrs. S.O. Britson. She went to Des Moines just before the holidays to spend Christmas with her children there and she was then taken seriously ill and died. <br><br>She was united in marriage to Chris Henderson in 1882, her husband passing away August 8, 1924. She leaves nine children, Miss Ada Henderson and Mrs. Ray Johnson of Des Moines; Mrs. S.O. Britson of Roland; Charley and Pete of Austin, Minn., and Lewis, Malvin, Norman and Arthur of Des Moines. A daughter, Mrs. Thos. Erickson, died some time ago. <br><br>She also leaves two brothers and one sister, Nels Chelsvig of Goodell, Joe Chelsvig of Roland, and Mrs. Annie Jacobson of Belmond, and 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild. <br><br>The deceased was a member of Salem Lutheran church until she moved away in 1913. A short funeral service was held in Des Moines Monday, Rev. H.E. Rasmusson officiating, and the body was then brought here where the funeral was held in Salem church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Olaf Holen in charge. Burial took place in the Mamrelund cemetery north of Roland. Her six sons were the pall bearers. <br><br>All the children and their families were present at the funeral, also Nels Chelsvig and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Chelsvig of Goodell, Kermit Erickson of Des Moines, and Mrs. Anna Hovland and Miss Louise Henderson of Story City. <br><br>&nbsp;<br>
