<span><strong>Norma Jiles </strong>was born 6/30/1914, Simsboro, Lincoln Parish, LA and died 12/27/2005 at her residence, Hall Summit, Red River Parish, LA. She married 1st. Francis “Reed” Benthall, 6/8/1937, Red River Parish, LA, Bk Q, Pg 332 (ended in divorce 5/3/1948, Red River Parish, LA). "Reed" was born 3/19/1912, LA and died 4/26/1962, Brazoria Co., TX, Cert 210225. One daughter of this union, Rita Frances was <span>born 6/19/1945 and died 2/16/2002, <span>Willis Knighton Hospital, Bossier City, Bossier Parish, LA. Rita was a resident of Hall Summit, Red River Parish, LA, at the time of her death. She was the mother of one son and one daughter, both living at this time.</span></span><span> <p><span>Norma was given a middle name but she did not like it. She chose not to use it and only mentioned it to me one time. It was not Jean as some have suggested...She used the letter "J" for Jiles as her middle initial.</span></p><p>After Norma and "Reed" divorced, she married Columbus Fairchild, 5/5/1948, Caddo Parish, LA, Bk 0121, Pg 0796. He was born 11/13/1907, MS and died 12/30/1978, LA. One son of this union, Larry M., was born <span>5/25/1949 and died 12/23/1984, LA. He was the father of three children, all living at this time.</span></p></span><span><p>After spending several years (about 7) during the 1950's in Leadville, CO, Norma, Columbus and their children migrated back to Hall Summit, Red River Parish, LA where they remained until their death.</p><p>Parents of Columbus are Lundy Fairchild born MS and Laura Bell UNKNOWN, <span>born 5/23/1874, MS and died 10/15/1951, LA.</span></p><span><p>Norma and Columbus are buried, near his mother and her mother and her two children, in the Bethel Church Cemetery, Methvin, Red River Parish, LA. This small cemetery is well kept and is located behind the church in the small community of Methvin between Hall Summit and Martin, Red River, Parish, LA. From the town of Coushatta take Hwy. 371 North, at intersection of Parish Road 314 take a right. At the intersection of Hwy. 507 take a right. Bethel Rd. will be first one to the left about 1/2 mile off Hwy 507. </p></span></span></span>
