<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Verna M. Stoltenberg, (nee Poehls) 92, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away Saturday, Dec. 23, 1995. She was born February 25, 1903 in Chicago. Burial was held Thursday, December 28 in the Arlington Heights Wheeling Township Cemetery.<br></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">Mrs. Stoltenberg was a certified entomologiest in the cotton industry.<br></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">She attended schools in Chicago, and the University of California, Los Angeles. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Arlington Heights, and the Sun City Eastern Star. She was the past national president of the Daughters of the Nile, an organization whose objective is the crippled children in the Shrine Hospitals throughout the United States and Canada, and past president of the Beaucant Knights Templar Wives. <br></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">She was the wife of Dewey L. "Roy" Stoltenberg, great-granddaughter of the late Herbert and Alice Williams, early settlers in Arlington Heights; granddaughter of the late Robert and Catherine Williams Reed of Arlington Heights, daughter of the late William and Gertrude Reed Poehls of Chicago; sister of the late Raymond Victor Poehls of Sun City, Ariz, and cousin of Dr. Robert McLoed Reed of Stillwater, Oklahoma.<br></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">Arrangements were made by Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, Arlington Heights.<br></span></p>
<p>Verna was a Certified Entomologist in the Cotton Industry and had attended the University of Californa.</p><p>She was a member of the Sun City Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the White Shrine. She was a Past President of the Beaucant Knights Templar Wives and Past National President and Supreme Queen of the Daughters of the Nile.</p><p>At her death, her Last Will and Testament left a substantial sum to the Shriners' Hospital in honor of her husband, Dewey Leroy Stoltenberg. </p>
