<p><span style="font-size: 14px;">AUDREY R. STREIT Portage, Indiana Age 75, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Audrey had been a Portage resident for several months, formerly long time resident of Hobart, and an area resident since 1950. Audrey had received her Bachelors degree and Masters degree from Valparaiso University. She was an Instructor for Ivy Tech and a Professor at Indiana University Northwest campus. Audrey was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Also a member of L.W.M.L., the Gary Zone L.W.M.L. Historian, the Mothers' Circle, a former Sunday School teacher, and a former member of several church choirs. Audrey was affectionately known as "G-Ma" to her grandchildren. Audrey is survived by: her loving husband of 55 years, Norman; 5 children, Nora (Jim) Cleary of Hobart, Larry (Sharon) Streit of Fishers, IN, Evelyn (Rick) Sapper of Hobart, Gloria (Fred) Olness of Dallas, TX, Gail (Jeff) Spero of DesPlaines, IL; 14 grandchildren, Irene (Jim) Grosdanis, Colleen (Andrew) Waymire, Michael Cleary, Tim (Holly) Streit, Kara Streit, Richard "Alan" (Heather) Sapper II, Jennifer (Bil Mack II) Boyd, Fred Sapper, Jonathan, Jacqueline and Benjamin Olness, Kathryn, Nathan and Ryan Spero; 3 great grandchildren, Harmony Waymire, Jacob Sapper, Taeler Sapper-Boyd. She was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Ruth Arkema; one brother, Ralph Arkema, and grand-daughter-in-law, Christy (nee Todd) Sapper. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church of Hobart. Funeral service will be Monday, July 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Dr., Hobart. Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory, Portage.
