Mary Sophia Tritsch

<p>Mrs. Sophia Mangold (nee Mary Sophia Tritsch) was born January 20, 1848, in Cincinnati. She was the daughter of George and Adeline Tritsch. She was married to Augustus Mangold in September of 1867 in Cincinnati, Ohio. They later moved to Pendleton county and had been a resident of this county for fifty-two years. She departed this life June 25, 1923, being 76 years, 5 months and 6 days of age. Her last illness was caused by cancer of the liver and stomach and covered a period of about three months.</p><p>Mrs. Mangold was the mother of ten children: Mrs. J. F. Baily of Knoxville; A. G. Manold of Aurora, Indiana; Mrs. C. A Mullins and Mrs. B. F. Middleton of Straight Shoot; Reverend Charles Mangold of Gardnersville; Charlotte, who died in infancy; William and T. L. Mangold of Straight Shoot; Mrs. J. C. Bowen of Gardnersville, and Mrs. H. R. Bowen of near Gardnersville.</p><p>Funeral services were held at the Gardnersville Baptist Church, Saturday, conducted by her former pastor, the Reverend F. M. Marshall of Covington, assisted by her pastor, the Reverend B. F. Yelton of Grant's Lick.</p><p>Burial took place in Gardnersville Cemetery by the side of her husband.</p><p>The pall-bearers were six of her grandsons, Louis and Lawrence Bailey, Orville and Russell Bowen, Roy Middleton and Raymond Mangold. Hazel and Erma Mangold an Gladys Bowen were flower-bearers.</p><p>Mrs. Mangold was a member of the Lutheran Chruch until 1907, when she united with Pleasant Ridge Bpatist chruch and remained a faithful member until her death.</p><p>Besides her children, she leaves thirty one grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. A. H. Dickerhoof of Price Hill, Cincinnati and one brother, George Tritsch of Dillsboro, Indiana.</p>
