<font face="comic sans ms,sand" size="3"><span style="font-family: 'comic sans ms'">Katherine Arix married John Herbert Winters on a Thursday morning at 11:00. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J McNeely at the court house in 1931. Katherine was born in May, 1913 in Branchland, West Virginia and grew up in Sheridan, West Virginia. She was a graduate of the Hamlin High School. At the time of her marriage, Katherine was living with an aunt and uncle (Mr and Mrs H A Carnaham) in Peach Creek, West Virginia. John Herbert and Katherine made their home in Logan, West Virginia. Several years after their marriage, Katherine became ill with tuberculosis and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, hoping the warm climate would help her recover. She died in February of 1947 while living in Phoenix, Arizona. Katherine’s body was brought back to Logan for the funeral. She was placed in the living room of John Henry and Addie’s home for the viewing and for the funeral. Katherine was buried in a grave in the west boundary of the Peck Cemetery at Peck’s Mill, West Virginia. A permanent stone marks her grave. At the time of her death, Katherine and John Herbert had five children; Richard (14), John Herbert Jr (11), Sabra (9), Gary (4) and Jerry (4).</span></font>
