    <p><strong>Obituary - Pella Chronicle - 20 Sep 1991</strong></p> <p><strong>Services for Comie Schuring, 78, of Sully, who died Sept. 9,1991 at his home, were held September 12 at Sully Christian Reformed Church. Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Sully Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Van Houten officiated at the services. Music was provided by Larry L. Jansen, organist, and Russell Stravers, soloist. Pallbearers were Steve Schuring, Kurt Steenhoek, Dennis Fynaardt, and Mike, Jeff and Brent Vander Molen. Honorary bearer was Darren Steenhoek.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Mr. Schuring was bom Feb. 27, 1913 near Fifield, the son of Nicholas and Jane Vander Post Schuring. </strong>He <strong>attended country school near Fifield and Lincoln Grade School in Pella. On April 19, 1933, he married Wilhelmina Vander Berg at Pella. </strong>He <strong>was employed by Ulrich Ford </strong>Garage <strong>in Pella until 1935. He then </strong>owned <strong>and operated his own garage business in Pella until 1955. Moving to Sully, he then owned and operated the grocery store there until his retirement in 1978. </strong>He <strong>served on the Sully Volunteer </strong>Fire <strong>Department for many years and </strong>drove the <strong>ambulance and served as an ambulance attendant for 17 years. </strong>Prior <strong>to this, he had been employed </strong>with <strong>the Van Dyk Ambulance Service in Pella for 15 years.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He <strong>was a member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He <strong>was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Norman Gareth, in infancy; and his six brothers and two </strong>sisters, Henry, <strong>Nick, Annie, Louis, </strong>Neal, <strong>Diles, John, and Mrs. John </strong>(Effie) <strong>Van Dam.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>He <strong>is survived by his wife; one </strong>son, <strong>Norman, of Sully; two </strong>daughters, <strong>Mrs. Kenneth (Jane Ann) </strong>Steenhoek <strong>of Denver, Colo, and </strong>Mrs. <strong>Martin (Betty Lou) Vander Molcn of </strong>Sully; <strong>10 grandchildren; </strong>eight <strong>great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Dena) Budding </strong>and <strong>Mrs, John (Anna) Vink, both of Pella.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>A memorial has been established </strong>to <strong>Sully Christian Grade School.</strong></p>
