<strong>Obituary: Barbara Haag</strong>, <u>Atchison Globe</u> (Sunday, October 15, 1927) Page 10, Column 4. <strong>“Grandmother of Forty-One Dies South of Town”</strong><br> Death came to Mrs. Barbaara Erpelding, 82, last Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Karl Schuele, three miles south of town. Old age and a lingering period of asthma are said to be the causes of her heath. <br> Mrs. Erpelding was born in Luxemburg, Germany. She was married there to Peter Erpelding in 1871. Her maiden name was Miss Barbara Haag. Soon after they sailed for the United States. They settled in Independence, Mo., in 1876. Later moving to a farm one half mile north of Potter. Mr. Erpelding died in 1893.<br> Nine children were born to them, of whom seven survive: Mrs. Karl Schuele; Mrs. O.W. Mack, Mapleton, Ia; Mrs. Peter Funk, Atchison,; John Erpelding, Olpe; Peter Erpelding, Nortonville; Frank Erpelding, Atchison; Mike Erpelding, Shannon. Two sisters; Mrs. A.L. Rablman and Miss Barbara Haag and two brothers; Mike Haag of Olpe and Frank Haag, south of town survive. There are 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.<br> Rosary will be said at the Karl Schuele home, three miles south of town on the Mt. Pleasant road at 8 o’clock this Sunday evniing. Funeral services will be at St. Patricks’s church at 9:30 o’clock tomorrow. Burial will be in the St. Patrick’s cemetery. Pallbearers for the funeral will be six of her grandsons; Henry, Bernard, Leo and Carl Erpelding, Matt Wagner and John Schuele. The funeral will be in charge of Mr. and Mrs. George Hathuff undertakers.
