HAWLEY, Joseph, </em>was born in 1603 ; came from Parwick, Derbyshire, Eng., and landed near Boston, Mass., in 1629. He m., probably in Wethersfield, Catharine, (tradition says) il.ui. of <span>Edward Birdsey, </span>about 1640, and came to Stratford soon after and purchased the right of Richard Mills in the township. (See Sketch, p. 118.)</p><p style="text-indent: 1em"><em>H. Samuel, </em>son of Joseph and Catharine Hawley, m. ist, Mary, dau. of Thomas Thompson, of Farmington, May 20, 1673. He m. 2d, Patience .</p><p style="text-indent: 1em">15. Tehiel, b. Apr. 5, 1685; m. and settled in Durham, Ct.</p><p style="text-indent: 1em">16. Elizabeth, b. Mar. 30, 1687; m.
