<p><span style="font-size: medium;">EL PASO <strong style="color: black; background-color: #a0ffff;">Dale</strong> B. <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>, 78, El Paso, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 18, 2010) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">Services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the Grace Fellowship Church, El Paso,? with the Rev. Dan Giese officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Inurnment will be at the Evergreen Cemetery, with military rites being conducted. Cremation will be accorded.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">Memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Association or El Paso Rescue Squad.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">He was born on July 24, 1931, in Odell, to Henry and Laura Zingerlie <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>. He married Twyla Harris on April 6, 1956, in Pontiac. She survives.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">Also surviving are four sons, Thomas (Teri) <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>, Mahomet; Rick (Sheila) <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>, Indianapolis; Greg (Kathy Roberts) <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>, Pontiac; and Eric <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>, Mackinaw; two daughters, Lisa (Tim) Saul, Park Ridge, and Sue (Steve) McWhorter, Colfax; eight grandchildren, Amy, Tara, Molly, Katie, Jamie, Amber, Jake and Jessie; one sister, Rita Sampson, Pontiac; one brother, Howard (Eileen) <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>, Pontiac; two sisters-in-law, Ann <strong style="color: black; background-color: #ffff66;">Legner</strong>, Pontiac, and Carole Mulliken, Bloomington; and two great-grandchildren.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong style="color: black; background-color: #a0ffff;">Dale</strong> worked for Pontiac Stone Company. He also was a supervisor at the U.S. Postal Service in Bloomington and was a postmaster his last 10 years at the U.S. Postal Service in El Paso, retiring in 1992 after 32 years.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">After retirement he worked at the El Paso Antique Mall.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">He was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and American Legion Post 59, both in El Paso.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong style="color: black; background-color: #a0ffff;">Dale</strong> had the idea to start Christmas in the Park, where he did a lot of work.</span></p>
