Damgar were partially destroyed by fire and water.&nbsp; The following partial information was obtained from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA):</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">Ralph C. Damgar, Army Serial #37-515-064</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">March 17, 1943 - Inducted at Ft. Levenworth, Kansas</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">March 24, 1943 - Training at Camp Butner, North Carolina.&nbsp; Assigned A-T Co, 315th Infantry.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">March 30, 1944 - Transferred to Camp Pickett, Virginia.&nbsp; Assigned A-T Co, 310th Infantry.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">May 13, 944 - Sailed for England via transport ship.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">May 24, 1944 - Arrived England.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">August 10, 1944 - Crossed English Channel to France.&nbsp; Arrived in France next day.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">November 20, 1944 - Seriously wounded in Germany.&nbsp; (Family history says during&nbsp;start of the Battle of the Bulge which was in Belgium.)</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">December 7, 1944 - Casualty telegram arrives for Peter Damgar.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">February 16, 1945 - Medical assessment:&nbsp; Partial paralysis of facial nerves; 93% deafness.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">November 30, 1945 - Honorable Discharge from Camp Lockett, Campo, California.&nbsp; Private First Class.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family: arial;">Medals awarded:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">Bronze Star Medal</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">Purple Heart</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">Good Conduct Medal</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">American Campaign Medal</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">World War II Victory Medal</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: arial;">Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII</span></li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
