[About 1936?]
My dear little niece,
We just had a letter from Grandpa, telling us about your operation, so sorry you had to ahve this but glad you are recovering. It will mean some absent days at school, but then our health means more, and just you be patient. Cousin Lorraine left Sunday for school and we do miss him so much. But he isn't very far away so he can come home weekends. I wish you would write to me sometime, while you are recovering, and tell me all about yourself and LaVerne. We see you girls so seldom. I don't even know how old you are, nor what date yoru birthdays are on. How are Betty and Eileen? I know you see them often. Love and best wishes to Mother and dad. Your Auntie Jeanette

November 1942, Pontiac, Michigan
My dear folks,
Just a line to tell you that we received word from Ann Arbor from the tests and xrays that were made while Oswald was there and they to the doctor in Pontiac. They could find nothing they didn't already know here. That terrible itch he had is gradually leaving him but he has developed the most terrible cough that simply wears him out, and they haven't found anything yet to help it one bit. He doesn't ever look better, but the last few day he hasn't been a bit well,
Love, Jeanette
